Biography

Long time ago I started playing the drums in nursery school. I Had so much fun playing the drums, and my parents were really proud of me that I had started to learn how to play an instrument. This gave me a sense of rhythm, which I carry with till today.

Like everyone, I started attending school, and had less time to practice the drums. Because I had to devote all my time to studying, I stopped playing the drums all together until now.

At the age of 16 I received the Launchpad MK1 for Christmas, and started playing around with it. It was difficult to practice playing tracks that you yourself didn’t create. I didn’t know in which key the tracks were supposed to be played. On top of that I couldn’t figure out how to use Ableton. However, after a short amount of time, I managed to play a couple cover songs which I found on the internet. It was the first time I achieved something with this device. I usually practiced songs that I wanted to play – maybe you’ve seen some YouTube videos about playing songs on the Launchpad.

Over time my interest in music grew and I started becoming more interested in other software programs. After a long time, I finally managed to use Ableton on my own. By this point I had started to create songs using samples, but I don’t think they were anything special.

Some years ago an old school friend and I met up in a restaurant. We started hanging out together and became best friends. While I was already a techno enthusiast, he wasn’t. But it didn’t take a long time for him to change his mind. He started liking techno more and more, until it became his favourite genre of music, like me. Someday we were at my home and he found my Launchpad, and he asked me if he could use it. So we started playing around with it. It was like a religious experience for him, discovering everything the Launchpad could do. We soon started playing songs together. I bought some more equipment, and we both devoted time learning how to use these new devices. In my free time, I spent even more hours trying to master Ableton.

A hard day came to pass when I dropped my beloved Launchpad and it broke. I needed to buy something new to replace it. I started comparing prices at different stores for DAW Controllers, and ended up finding the Abeton Push II. Me and my friend visited Thomas to take a further look, and we were really impressed with how immersive and functional it was. After a couple of days of thinking about it, I bought it.
